Jennifer Starr

Jennifer Starr is an American Casting Director who works in print advertising. She has collaborated with a numerous of fashion designers, photographers, artists and creative directors on a variety of projects including campaigns for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Gucci, Gap and D&G, among others.
Starr began her career working for Bruce Weber's production coordinator as a location scout on a Calvin Klein shoot in Miami. She continued to work for Weber, first as an assistant and then in casting. Working for Weber, she ultimately ended up finding new talent for campaigns for Versace, Abercrombie & Fitch and Banana Republic.
Shortly thereafter, Richard Avedon hired her to cast the 1997 Pirelli Calendar. She has since cast the past twelve calenders collaborating with photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Peter Beard, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot and Herb Ritts.
In addition to working in print advertising, Starr also works with in casting television commercials and films.
Starr was enlisted to cast the models for Vanessa Beecroft's first installation at the Guggenheim museum in New York City.
Ms. Starr has been, on occasion, quoted in magazines and newspapers for her opinion on beauty and issues relating to the modeling industry. In 2008 she served as a judge on Bravo's Make Me A Supermodel television show.
