Planiversity

Planiversity is an online trip organization and planning tool, established in 2015. The company was founded in the Nuremberg area in Bavaria, Germany but is based out of Cheyenne, Wyoming in the United States of America. The company is privately owned and held by its founder and Chief Executive Officer.
Service
Planiversity is the first of its kind, combining the logistical and organizational needs of travelers with the capability to compile information into a single travel document. The value of the service lies in the structure of information in the site. Users are able to create their route, whether by airplane, car, or train, create notes for their trip, develop a schedule, add filters to their plan (e.g. locations of destination hotels, police stations, hospitals, gas stations, subway maps, and weather), select their embassy, which will be generated in the form of a map with address. Once all of the information is selected, users can then add up to four copies of their hotel itineraries, four copies of their travel itineraries, four copies of passports, and four copies of driver’s licenses. Finally the plan can be named and exported into one single PDF document, which can be saved to their devices and accessed for convenience. Users can also share the trip plan with anyone they choose.
Business model
The use of service is currently without cost to the customer, applying the fundamentals of a "free business model," also known as freemium. The company's business model is broken down into three key models; software development to match traveler needs, intuitive functionality, and the implementation of accessible information.
The inclusion of information and the consolidation of trip plan contents is the organizational foundation of Planiversity. However, the basis of the company's structure is centered around both security while traveling and organization of the information contents.
Development
Unlike many competing software development projects, Planiversity.com was developed using solely Ruby on Rails, rather than PHP. Initial development of the website and Android was done by Medma Infomatix, beginning the Summer of 2014. Once the project completed and launched in April 2015, development was then transferred to Softeq Development Corporation, in order to improve the design and functionality of the software.
