Yan Dhanda

Yan Dhanda (born 14 December 1998) is an English-Indian footballer who plays for Liverpool U18s and England U17s as an attacking midfielder. In December 2015, Dhanda signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Liverpool - becoming only the second professional player of Indian heritage in the Premier League, after Swansea City's Neil Taylor, and the first for the Merseyside club.

Academy
Dhanda was first spotted by Chelsea scouts in 2010 during a Search for the Next Asian Star tournament that was held among the Asian community, providing an opportunity for young stars to grab attention. It was because of that event that Dhanda was allowed to train with the West London side during the Carlo Ancelotti-era. Having spent time at Aston Villa, Walsall, Birmingham and West Brom when he was just seven, he joined the Baggies before his ninth birthday, before signing for the Liverpool academy aged just 14 in July 2013 for a deal reported to be worth £200,000. The same year, he was presented with the 'Up and Coming Asian Player of the Year' award at the Asian Football Awards held at Wembley Stadium.
On 19 December, Dhanda signed his first professional contract with Liverpool.
International career
He made his England U16 debut on 11 February 2014, where he scored two and set up one in the 4-1 rout over Denmark U16s. He also scored one and set up three on his debut for the England U17s, during a 5-1 win over Iceland U17.
