Pixel Innovations Ltd was established in Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom, in 1988 to market new terminal emulation and PC integration technologies, focussing particularly on the Pick marketplace, the main product being . Starting from humble origins with a team of two, Francis Carden and Derek Cahusac de Caux, Pixel achieved a sales turnover of $200,000 in its first year. Pixel acquired Cavendish Software Systems Ltd in January 1995, thus taking over direct development of its product line as well as the marketing. In 1996, Pixel USA, Inc was established in Atlanta, Georgia to tap into the US market for terminal emulation and PC integration technologies. TERMiTE was renamed to in 1997. Pixel underwent a number of acquisitions over the years and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rogue Wave. Products TERMiTE is a terminal emulation software package, originally developed by Peter Harvey at Cavendish Software Systems Ltd in 1988, and acquired in 1995 by Pixel Innovations Ltd. TERMiTE was originally written for MS-DOS systems, with support for a large number of terminal emulations, a wide range of TCP/IP stacks as well as other network protocols, and several file transfer protocols.
