Halogen Software Inc. is a software publishing company in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada which provides Web-based employee performance and talent management solutions. Company History Halogen Software was spun off of the business-consulting firm, Manta Consulting. Manta was established in 1989 and focused on delivering Lotus Notes applications to the Fortune 500, including HP, Motorola, Orange and others. The organization created one of the first web-based survey tools in the late 1990’s and marketed their solution primarily to large organizations. Early in 2001, Manta’s founders created an independent Halogen Software Inc. with separate employees and executive. Its mandate was to bring the advantages of enterprise class software systems to organizations of all sizes. Since then, Halogen has focused on the human capital management market and delivered "out of the box", turnkey software solutions. This product strategy was the opposite of the large ERP vendors at the time. In the past two years their customer base has grown from 150 to nearly 1000.
