Contensis

Contensis is a Content Management System, used to enable non-technical management of both web content and offline content.
The product was originally created in 1998, and is now at version 5.
Contensis is developed by Genetics Ltd, and is supported by both Genetics Directly and its partners.
Product History
Contensis was originally born in autumn 1998, and was developed to meet the requirements of its customers and their content management needs.
The team went out to the available systems at the time and decided that there was no-one that could service the needs of their customers.
The decision was taken to develop a system to service the blue chip customers that Genetics had gained, and version 1 was released within 12 months.
CMS completely took over the team and every resource in the company was wholly dedicated to further developing and building on the success of that very early version 1 of the software.
When the CMS got to version 3.5 in 2004, the company decided to start releasing the product more widely outside the existing customer base, and has continued to do so ever since.
Today the Web Content Management System is at version 5 after over 10 years of development.
Technology
The CMS is founded on the Microsoft .NET Framework currently using version 3.5, and is developed using a Multitier architecture.
Although the CMS itself must run on a Microsoft platform, the published websites can run on any web server of choice.
The system can be installed on a standalone server or can be provide in a SAAS configuration.
