Piotrowskis - Tatar knezes

Piotrowskis - Tartar knezes (dukes) from Lithuania using coat of arms "Piotrowski".

They are descendants of Naiman-Beg, one of commanders of a squad sent by Tartar Khan to help Lithuanian Great Prince Vytautas in his war against the Teutonic Knights.
Naiman-Beg together with other Tartar warriors took part in the famous Grunwald Battle (1410), then they settled in Lithuania and served as soldiers organized in troops and called up in need.

The line of knezes Piotrowskis using coat of arms "Piotrowski" comes from Naiman-Beg's great grandson Ivashko, however they took their name after Naiman-Beg's son knez Piotr.

In the middle of XVII century impoverished knez Alej Janyszewicz (son of Jan - John), than the only living Tartar Piotrowski, sold the remnants of the family estate in Lithuania and leaved somewhere. His further destiny is unknown for records.

However now in Strachocina in Ziemia Sanocka (Sanok Land) there live Piotrowskis that has preserved the tradition of their Tartar origin and the tradition of the same coat of arms as descendants of knez Ivashko. Their ancestor Stephen Piotrowski arrived to Strachocina just in XVII century, after the Khmelnytskyi Uprising and was treated with great esteem as somebody very important.

They maintain that they are Tartar knezes (dukes) Piotrowskis.
