Pierre Kirby

Pierre Kirby (born 19??) was an British film actor and martial artist who played in several Godfrey Ho films such as Full Metal Ninja and Zombie vs. Ninja.
Early life
Little is known about the origins of Pierre Kirby. Despite having an American dubbed voice in his films, Kirby was a British citizen, having grown up in the UK.
Acting career
Supposedly to find business, Kirby moved to Hong Kong in the late 1980s where he met director, Godfrey Ho who introduced him to acting. Ho was known for his low-budget martial arts films and use of the cut-and-paste technique, where existing footage from an uncompleted movie is put together with newly filmed footage to make a finished movie. After seeing Kirby's potential, he included him in 9 of his projects from 1987 to 1988. Kirby was the protagonist in most of them. Though these films were mostly received poorly, Kirby gained popularity for his good looks as well as his acting and fighting skills.
Disappearance
After acting in only 9 films, Kirby was never heard from again. Though he might have simply retired from acting, many rumors spread, like him being captured by pirates.
Legacy
Though many ridicule his films for being horrendously bad, Kirby has recently gained a cult following. This can be attributed mainly to sales of pirated DVDs, as well as the growth of the Internet thanks to his week long Pierre Kirby Week spotlight on The Cinema Snob, where he was deemed the "king of 'actionsploitation' cinema".
