Phyllis Campbell Abbott

Phyllis Campbell Abbot (died 1997) was a 20th century Canadian artist. In 1924 she exhibited of her paintings at the Spring Exhibition of the Royal Canadian Academy. In 1930 she showed her work at the Eaton Galleries. As a youth she was an athlete, and later became a long-time volunteer with the Victorian Order of Nurses. She was also a naturalist. Abbot was born in Senneville, Quebec, and was of British descent. Her grandfather was Sir John Abbot, the 3rd prime minister of Canada, and she was either the daughter or niece of John Bethune Abbot. Isabella Abbott was either her sister or cousin. Her fiance was killed in a car accident. She died in 1997 in Genevieve, QC.
