Phoca Gallery

Phoca Gallery is a gallery - image gallery for CMS. It includes component, modules and plugins and allows users to display images or Youtube videos in many different styles.<ref name="ref1" group="Ref"/>
For displaying images users can use the component ( component) only. If users wants to display images in articles, they can use Phoca Gallery Plugin<ref name="ref2" group="Ref"/> (and Phoca Gallery Button plugin<ref name="ref3" group="Ref"/> - for easier adding of images into articles). Images can be displayed as slideshow in articles with help of Phoca Gallery Slideshow plugin<ref name="ref4" group="Ref"/> or they can be displayed on module positions in (with help of Phoca Gallery Image module<ref name="ref5" group="Ref"/>).<ref name="ref1" group="Ref"/>
With Phoca Gallery users can show their pictures in different categories and subcategories. Phoca Gallery does not display an image of the files stored on server, but users can decide what image belongs to which category. An image can also belong to multiple categories. With the multiple add function it is still possible to create a category from a folder on server in case it is aked. The category can be updated that way too.
Phoca Gallery creates 3 types of thumbnails to show the pictures. Those thumbnails are created with the help of the GD library (which needs to be enabled on server). The smallest thumbnail is used when users want to display a list of categories. The medium thumbnail is used when users want to display the images in a category and the large thumbnail pops up when visitors click a medium thumbnail. Visitors can also start a slideshow to view the images which belong to a category. The original image is used to create thumbnails from and a link can be displayed that visitors can display/download the original image. The advantage of using also large thumbnails is that users can add watermarks to their thumbnails, all large images are the same size (maximum). Users can define the sizes themself. Joomla!1.5 (stable or any later version)
PHP 4.4.1 (or any later version) with GD library (graphics library for thumbnails creation).
