Phillip Basile

Phillip Basile a.k.a "Philly" (June 4, 1935 - October 15, 1996) was a Lucchese crime family mob associate who served under Paul Vario who is the father of Frank Basile and relative of Anthony Basile.

Biography

Phillip, is the father of Francesco "Frank" Basile born Island Park, New York c.a. 1958 who became involved with Henry Hill in narcotics trafficking and Bonanno crime family associate Anthony Basile born April 2, 1970 who helped orchestrate the murder of Robert Perrino. He was a Lucchese crime family controlled rock and roll music promoter and the owner of the Long Island, New York "Rumors Disco" who was associate of the Lucchese crime family caporegime Paul Vario and Henry Hill. The brother of senator Alphonse D'Amato was partners with Basile and Paul Vario. When Basile was arrested for getting Henry Hill the no-show job at his disco, Alphonse testified on Phillip's behalf. His wife donated enormous contributions to D'Amato during election year. Sixties rock band, the Vanilla Fudge were "discovered" and managed by reputed Lucchese crime-family member, Phil Basile, who operated several famous L.I. clubs—the Action House, Speaks, Channel 80, Industry—three of which were the same club (on Austin Boulevard in Island Park, NY) with different names.

Hiring Henry Hill

Upon Henry Hill's release on July 12, 1978 Phillip prior to Henry's early release was arranged to hired the released convict as the manager of one of his discoteques in Long Island. The job "no-show" job that had him earning $225 a week. Phillip had hired Henry in the past to burn some buildings owned by Basile for insurance fraud. Henry did go every week to pick up his weekly pay stub so he could show his parole officer that he was gainfully employed. He was arrested with his business partner Henry Hill on drug trafficking charges, including his son Frank.
