Phil Forgit is a decorated Iraq War veteran and former 4th grade teacher from Rawls Byrd Elementary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was nominated by a 106-91 convention vote to be the Democratic Party candidate in the of 2007 which took place as the result of Congresswoman JoAnn Davis death. Forgit lost the election to the GOP candidate, Rob Wittman. Forgit previously ran for the Virginia House of Delegates in 2003, but lost to Melanie Rapp. Forgit has received the Bronze Star and National Education Association Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence Mr Forgit is a church going Christian He attends Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg Virginia. |
