The Pheu Chart Thai Party (; ; For Thai Nation Party) is a Thai political party founded by Ampapan Thanetdejsunthorn in 2018. Ampapan was the "minor wife" of the late former Army chief, Armed Forces Headquarters Supreme Commander, and coup leader Sunthorn Kongsompong. Scandal Ampapan was at the center of a corruption scandal in the early 2000s, involving litigation with Sunthorn's legal wife, Khunying Col. Orachorn Kongsompong, after the general left most of his ฿6 billion ($134 million) estate to Ampapan, raising questions as to how he had managed to amass such a large fortune on a public salary. Sunthorn's son is Apirat Kongsompong, a four-star general who as of 2018 was Assistant Army Commander, and was tipped as favorite for next army chief. He is a close associate of King Vajiralongkorn.
