Peter Shankman (born August 6, 1972) is an American entrepreneur, author and blogger. Career Shankman was the creator of the Help a Reporter Out ("HARO") project, a service for journalists later acquired by Vocus, Inc., and a PR firm called The Geek Factory. He is the author of books on marketing and social media. He has been a guest speaker at TedX, South by Southwest, and many other conferences.
