Peter Piskei

Peter Piskei was a German American soccer player and played for the Philadelphia United German-Hungarians from 1955-1969. Peter began playing for the GH as a right wing, and was a favorite among the fans as well as his team mates.

Pete was born in (Sackelhausen), , Romania and fled to Salzburg, Austria in 1944. Pete played his first soccer game in Salzburg with the Victoria Club. In 1955 he came to America and began playing right wing with the GH. He played in most of the United League allstar games. Peter played continuosly with the Philadelphia United German-Hungarians until his retirement from active soccer in 1969. Peter was a part of the team that won the National Amateur Cup in 1965. More information about the 1965 Final can be found here . During his career with the GH he contributed to the success of the 1960s. While playing for the GH Peter's team won the Championship of the USLofPA 6 times in a row ([https://picasaweb.google.com/ugharchiving1/GHMajors19611966?authkey=Gv1sRgCMnh3ZeB3bqPQQ# GH Majors 1961-1966]), as well as in 1968, and 1969.In 1964 the GH made it to the final of the Amateur Cup and lost to Chicago Schwaben, in Chicago. Both Peter and Werner Fricker retired from active soccer as players in 1969.
