Peter Mercurio (born February 14, 1968) is a member of the East Aurora Village Board and a longtime resident of the village. Early Life and Career Peter Mackenna Mercurio was born February 14, 1968 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Kenmore, New York, and is the third of four sons of Joseph and Marlene Mercurio. When he was four years old his family moved to Elma, New York, where he was raised and graduated from Iroquois High School in 1986. He would go on to attend SUNY Fredonia College and graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Mercurio lived in Chapel Hill, NC briefly before obtaining a job at Ingram Micro in Williamsville, NY, a computing firm where he worked for 11 years. In 2005, he accepted a job as a Pharmaceutical Representative and is currently a Specialty Sales Consultant at Boehringer Ingelheim, a major pharmaceuticals company, where he remains today. He met Suzanne Marie Blind of Alden, NY, at a summer job at Darien Lake Amusement Park and had a passionate romance starting the summer of 1988. They married July 7, 1995 and have had four children: Jamison Peter, Mackenna Valerie, Anthony Mathias and Malena Suzanne. Political career Peter Mercurio won election as an East Aurora village trustee in 2005, and has served for 5 consecutive 2 year terms. The republican won both the republican and democratic endorsement for Aurora Town Council in 2012 but had to turn down the democratic endorsement due to local republican party policy and ultimately lost the Republican primary to the incumbents. Mercurio supported recent improvements to the Roycroft Campus and he chairs the holiday decoration committee that he started and continues to push reforms that maintain the historical aspects of East Aurora.
