Cengiz Dervis

Cengiz Dervis is an award-winning British actor, martial artist, producer and writer, known for his roles as Carter Drake in short film Drake. John West in feature film By Any Name. Sociopath contract-killer, Mr. Gallo in feature film Retribution. He is also known for being a former world kickboxing champion and martial arts master.
Early life
Cengiz was born in London, the son of Caner and Linda Dervis. He has an older brother Senol Dervis. Cengiz's love for acting started as a teenager making no budget short films with friends, and a small period of theatre, before completely focusing on screen acting. He continues to develop his craft with some of the industry best organisations and coaches.
Career
Cengiz has had a diverse career of performing and creativity. He is an actor, published singer/songwriter, former professional fighter and an author of books and writer of film scripts.
He trained in the martial arts and competed extensively.
Cengiz is a former 3-times world kickboxing champion whose training began at the age of 5 originally under his uncle Shen in a Korean influenced system called Shen Chi Do. Cengiz is now a master of the art and has also trained in a number of other systems; kickboxing, mma, boxing, muay thai, hapkido, kuksulwon, wing chun, including ancient, eastern and modern weapons. Given his extensive martial arts background and understanding of on screen action, Cengiz occasionally assists to prepare actors physically for film - clients trained include Rowan Atkinson, Matthew Macfadyen, and Natalie Imbruglia.
2013 saw Cengiz win his first film award at the Action on Film Festival in California for his work on the film 'Drake' which he both starred in and produced, winning best film and seeing Cengiz nominated for Best Performance By An Actor in a Leading Role. 2014 saw Cengiz nominated for Best Villain in the film 'Salvation', and the films 'London Hood', 'Crude' and 'Retribution' (all with Cengiz in leading roles) have been selected for a number of international film festivals.
As a published writer of books and scripts Cengiz has a growing slate of works, including: 'The Drake Files', the first of three 280 page graphic novels 'Jengito', his childrens book series, and film scripts filming in 2014 include 'Brothers Promise' and 'London Hood'. Back in 2001 Cengiz co-founded one of London’s most exclusive health clubs KX Gym before moving on in 2004 to open TÉ studio.
