The Perth Blitz are a gridiron club based in Perth, Western Australia. They compete in the Gridiron West league. They have made the playoffs in every season that they have played, and won the Gridiron West state championship in the 2011-2012 season. Team history The Blitz rose from the ashes of the Perth Giants in 2006 with a new look and a totally new structure. The club is run by a committed group of 40+ players. There is no single ‘owner’ of the Blitz. The club has so far had over 230 members and is an active member of Gridiron West and Gridiron Australia. In its three-year history, the Blitz have made the Gridiron West playoffs every year and the Grand Final twice, narrowly losing in February 2009. In the 2012 grand final, the Perth Blitz defeated the defending champions, Rockingham Vipers, 32-30, and thus captured their first Gridiron West state championship. In the 2013 grand final, the Perth Blitz were again featured, this time against the Perth Broncos. The Broncos claimed their club's first Gridiron West state championship with a 28-26 win over the Blitz. The Blitz train every Tuesday and Thursday evening from July at South Perth Rugby League Club, Manning Road, Manning.
