Penn Medicine

Penn Medicine (commonly styled PENN Medicine) is the governing board that administers and coordinates the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS). The board reports directly to the trustees of the University of Pennsylvania. It was created by Penn's president, Judith Rodin, in response to a $300 Million financial crisis at the Health System.
The regionally ubiquitous term is sometimes misapplied to UPHS clinical care services and practices, which use the term "Penn Health." The term is also used by many to refer solely to the medical school.
University City medical campus
Many of the parts of Penn Medicine are based in University City, Philadelphia on a site that was originally home to the Blockley Almshouse.
