Pelagia Kwashirai (popularly known as Minister Pel) is a Zimbabwean-British music promoter and social activist. Pelagia Kwashirai was born in Domboshava village, Zimbabwe in March 1994. She grew up in Harare then migrated to the UK in 2009. In late 2019, Pelagia founded an organisation called AGC DONCASTER as a way to encourage, entertain and empower people during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through AGC DONCASTER gospel music competition, Kwashirai helped several new artists financially through online competitions. The competition had participating contestants from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, Russia, Dubai and United Kingdom. The competitions produced about 12 artists who managed to establish themselves in the music industry including Natsisai Taaliah Mudzamiri, Rumbidzai Mandeta, Diana Nyoni, Rufaro Nicole Nyathi, Nkosi Herman Nyoni, Tadisa Matema, Tanaka Kachembere, Christabel Zvakavapano and Sakhile Sibanda. In 2019, Pelagia also co-founded a Youth Empowerment Programmes (Y.E.P) organisation with Darly Whittaker and Seth Vanbeek as partners. The organisation was created to empower young black and Asian people to be spiritually, mentally, physically and financially free in their communities. Kwashirai was nominated for the Zimbabwe Young Achievers Awards UK in the People's Choice category for her works through AGC DONCASTER.
