Paul V. Johnson

Paul Vere Johnson (born June 24, 1954) has been a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 2005, and was the church's sixteenth Commissioner of Church Education from 2008 to 2015.
Johnson was born in Gainesville, Florida, and was raised in Logan, Utah. As a young man, he was an LDS Church missionary in Norway, after which he earned degrees from Brigham Young University and Utah State University. He served in this capacity until August 1, 2015, when he was succeeded by Kim B. Clark, and Johnson became first counselor in the presidency of the church's Europe Area.
