Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba (born 15 March 1993) is a French footballer of Guinean descent who plays as a defensive midfielder for English Premier League club Manchester United. He joined Manchester United from Le Havre AC in late July 2009. He has older twin brothers called Flo Pogba and Mathías Pogba (also known just as Mathías) who play as youth players for Celta Vigo.
Career
Le Havre
Pogba was part of the Le Havre under 16 squad that came second in Groupe A of the French Championnat National 16 Ans in 2008-9, with RC Lens under 16s coming first. Le Havre's youth teams are famed for producing prodigious talent such as Charles N'Zogbia, Lassana Diarra and Florent Sinama-Pongolle.
Manchester United
His signing for Manchester United caused some controversy as Le Havre AC alleged Pogba's parents had been offered money for their son to sign. Le Havre were particularly annoyed because of Manchester United's stature in the game, stating that they had uprooted Pogba in commiting such a foolish act. Manchester United had been tracking Pogba for some time, and on 15 May 2009 Le Havre issued a statement on its website stating that the player was not free. However the French side were powerless and had to cede. The move was hailed as a triumph for Sir Alex Ferguson in poaching a great French talent despite Arsene Wenger's interest in the player. However the debacle reopened the ongoing debate about under 18s transfering to foreign teams. In March 2009, following a UEFA meeting on the subject, Michel Platini expressed concern regarding the "moral and ethical issue".
