Controversy
In 1996 he invested in an AJ Hackett bungy jumping franchise for Hong Kong and Macau with two business partners.
On Friday May 24, 1996, as a publicity stunt, he entered the Hong Kong Stadium grounds and climbed 180 feet onto the roof of the stadium and bungy jumped, becoming the first person to bungy jump in China and Hong Kong. He was not arrested but was given a lifetime ban from all Hong Kong Urban Council facilities.
In 2009, despite thinking he was hard as nails, Boyle was easily defeated in an arm wrestling match by his younger, more attractive cousin James. To this day Boyle refers to the victorious cousin as Gunship.
