Kelly Lovell

Kelly Lovell is a Canadian motivational public figure, a television host and a non-profit engagement consultant. Incorporating at 19-years-old, Lovell is the founder of The Kelly Effect, the CEO of Lovell Corporation and the Executive Producer and Host of YOU Effect. She is named among the Top 50 Young Leaders in the World through the Hesselbein Global Academy for 2013. In 2012, she was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 20 Under 20 and was a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal Recipient. She was a Provincial Change the World Youth Ambassadors and is among 50 young leaders around the world selected as a 2013 Hesselbien fellow. Some of her motivational speaking stages include WE Day, by Free the Children and TEDx.
Personal life
Currently, Lovell is a student at the University of Western Ontario. She is enrolled in two degree programs: Honours Bachelor of Medical Science and Honours Business at the Richard Ivey School of Business. She is also completing an elite enrichment module Scholars Electives. Through this program, Lovell has undertaken laboratory research and completed her first thesis in herbal medicine. She is expected to graduate in 2022

Television, Film & Modelling
In 2013, Lovell founded YOU Effect, a national social movement that harmonizes the passions, struggles and goals of youth to produce local and global change. As a new web-series and upcoming Rogers television show spin off, the movement focuses on showcasing young potential in the community while also serving as a support for young leadership from all walks of life. There is also a YOU Effect blog, where young people can gather and share ideas, address their concerns and find support amongst their peers. Some of Lovell’s responsibilities as the Executive Producer and Host include script writing, gathering and managing the creative team, television production, blog creation, sourcing guests for the shows and fostering a positive environment where youth can achieve their goals.
Aside from YOU Effect, Lovell continues to have an active role in the media, as both a model and actress. Her most recent work includes acting in I Was Greenhouse, an independent film to be featured in upcoming film festivals.
Social Enterprise
In 2012, Lovell founded Lovell Corporation, under which she builds global youth development programs to bridge the gap between young people and communities. It aims to provide youth with the necessary tools and opportunities to grow as leaders and support community organizations. As CEO, some of Kelly's responsibilities include the creation of business plans, financial modeling, volunteer outreach and obtaining large non-profit and city wide partners to support youth.
Activism/Charity
The Kelly Effect
At 19-years-old, Lovell incorporated her own company, The Kelly Effect. As an organization that assists non-profits in building sustainable organizations through the implementation of best practices, The Kelly Effect aims to provide supports to enhance the efficiency client resources and strengthen community outreach. It has an eclectic set of non-profit projects across Canada and motivational speaking events.
The Kelly Effect has been provincially recognized for innovation and inclusion by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship & Immigration. Some of its successes include mobilizing 1500+ youth to participate in the Ontario Change the World Challenge, rallying youth to donate 2100+ volunteer hours in under three weeks, and fundraising for Save the Children to build a school in Burkina Faso Africa.
Another more recent Kelly Effect project, called My Clean City, is a national youth leadership program that aims to reduce Canada’s carbon footprint. By bridging the gap between existing resources and organizations and young leaders, My Clean City motivates Canadians to become more environmentally conscious.
Advocacy/Leadership Work
In Lovell’s work as the sole Canadian Ambassador, she attended the Do Something Leadership boot camp in the USA, in addition to serving as a delegate at One Young World. In such roles she convenes with fellow change leaders to foster youth leadership, citizenship and character. Lovell has had served as Master of Ceremonies for youth engagement and volunteerism forums and has participated in round tables with the Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada and parliament members. Lovell has also assisted and job shadowed a roster of political leaders, including six city councillors, two MPPs and 3 MPs. She has worked closely with her municipal city hall to advocate for equal rights and has assisted city councillors in successfully lobbying and passing reforms to active policy.
