Patty Crash

Patty Crash, (born Katrin Newman, May 18, 1986, Keflavik, Iceland. Crash moved to america in the early 90's after her dad who was singer sonwriter took his own life. She spent winters in America and summers in Iceland.She started writing rhymes and hooks had other people sing cause she believed she wasnt a good enough singer.She eventually moved to America at the age of 17 to pursue a career in the music industry. After a failed attempt to attend a The Roots show in Baltimore, Crash was introduced to the group through a friend of hers. While ciphering with Tariq Trotter(Black Thought),Dice Raw,and Truck North on the tour bus she gave them her demo. Black Thought flew Crash out to Philadelphia where she met Nikki Jean who had joined a group Nouveau Riche with Dice Raw after leaving St. Paul Minnesota. Crash later gained a feature on Tyga's album No Introduction in the song "Diamond Life".Then later appearing on Gym Class Heroes' album The Quilt on the song "Drnk Txt Rmeo".That same year The Roots and Gym Class Heroes did a tour together allowing Crash to open up for them in New York and Philadelphia and the show Sold out.
She is scheduled to be appear on The Roots next album How I Got Over on the song "The Day".
