Patrick DSP aka Patrick Gharapetian (born 1977 in Tehran, Iran) is an Armenian/Canadian techno producer and internationally-touring DJ. Biography In the 1980s, after brief stays in Germany, Sweden and England, Patrick settled in Canada's Greater Toronto Area. He collaborated for a number of years with Hardsignal Recordings, and has since begun Beta Mechanical Recordings. Patrick has produced for a number of legendary record labels such as Fine Audio, Submissions, Hydrualix, Hardsignal and Cluster to name a few. He is known for DJing Hard Techno sets as well as performing Live PAs, making use of electronics such as drum machines, effect units, midi controllers and digital mixing equipment. Patrick is known for his audio production expertise and has been known to give classes in schools and in lecture halls around the world. He is also known for film scores, post-production and mastering work. Record Labels In 2008, Patrick launched Beta Mechanical Recordings as a solo project. In an effort to reunify the constant subdivisions in the Techno genre; Beta Mechanical combines artists of varying styles together. "Beta Mechanical is a test; a beta version of what could be. It's the proving ground to bring together techno artists of different degrees and styles. Together, we can show that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts."
