Pascal Stil

Pascal Stil (born October 18, 1974, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) is an international draughts player. After moving to Ireland in 2005, he was the first player to represent Ireland in International Draughts during the European championships in 2012. While no official Irish championship in international draughts has been played, because there are very few known players, Pascal was invited to take part in this European championship by the organizing federation KNDB as champion of Ireland. Pascal also took part in the European draughts championships of 2014 in Tallinn, Estonia.
In 2004 and 2014 Pascal was one of the participants in the successful World record attempts blindfold simultaneous draughts by Ton Sijbrands.
In the 2004 edition, Pascal had a combination giving him a king at the cost of 2 pieces, but on the next move he overlooked a counter combination.
In the 2014 world record, Pascal also lost his game against Sijbrands, but here it was due to a combination of being overly tired and incorrectly thinking he was going to lose a piece, leading to him resigning while a draw was still very well possible.
