Parrish Gaines

Parrish Gaines (born July 3, 1993) is an American football safety who is currently a free agent. He played college football for the Navy Midshipmen. He also joined the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in 2015. Parrish Gaines is also a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.
Early years
Parrish attended Smyrna High School in Smyrna, Tennessee, where he was a three-sport star football, basketball, and track for the Bulldogs. As a senior, he appeared in the TSSAA 6A football championship. Losing to Maryville High School 23-21. He also competed as a long jumper at Smyrna, posting personal-best jumps of 24.01 feet and 24.04 feet.
Regarded as a two-star recruit by Rivals.com, Gaines was ranked the No. 7 overall prospect at wide receiver in the state of Tennessee. February 2, 2011, Gaines committed to play at the United States Naval Academy.
College career
Gaines enrolled at the United States Naval Academy, where he played for the Navy Midshipmen football team from 2011 to 2014. He was teammates with Seahawks wide receiver Keenan Reynolds from 2012 to 2014. As a true freshman, he played in 8 games (starting seven) at cornerback, and was 1-of-10 true freshmen to play for the Midshipmen in 2011. As a sophomore, he started 13-of-13 games played, finishing fourth on the team with 69 tackles (3.5 for loss) 3 interceptions, and 3 passes defended. He finished his 2013 campaign with 59 tackles, 8 passes defended and 3 interceptions. As a senior in 2014, Gaines was named team captain and finished with 42 tackles (2.5 for a loss) 3 interceptions, and 8 passes defended. He tied for third in the Independent with three interceptions. Gaines finished his Navy career starting 46 of 47 for the midshipmen. Following the 2014 campaign, Gaines was invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game.
Professional career
On November 18, 2014, Gaines accepted his invitation to play in the 2015 East-West Shrine Game. On January 17, 2015, Gaines appeared in the East-West Shrine Game as part of East team. Gaines started the game as the East routed the West was 19-3. Gaines participated in Navy's pro-day on April 12, 2015. Gaines was invited to a private workout with the Tennessee Titans. Gaines was projected to be a fifth to seventh round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by NFL draft experts and scouts. He was ranked as the 42nd best safety prospect available in the draft by DraftScout.com.
