Paromita Chatterjee

Paromita Chatterjee (born April 15 1974) is a Business news anchor. Till recently she was with the CNN-IBN network where she headed the IBN Business segment. She worked with CNBC for close to 8 years, starting 2000.
Paromita recently moved to Times of India promoted, yet-to-be-launched Business news channel, ET NOW. She would be opertaing as a lead anchor from New Delhi. Since the channel would be based in Mumbai, she would be frequenting Channel's Mumbai office.
Paromita started as a member of Raghav Behl, media mogul's pilot team when CNBC operated out of a one room studio in Delhi's Kalkaji area.
Her move came as a suprise to people In media who took her as a permanent face on Network 18.
She lives in New Delhi
Previously, she appeared for shows like Bazaar and India market wrap. More recently she appeared on the Reporter's diary in 2.00 p.m. IST and Business lunch 1.00 p.m. IST.
Apart from anchoring news shows, Paromita also anchored weekend Features shows like All About money.
She has studied Economics (bachelors) in Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi and has done a Masters degree in film and television production in Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.
She is also a producer apart from an anchor.
She is proficient in several languages, she speaks fluent Bengali, Hindi, Oriya, French and Bahasa.
She is a staunch supporter of animal rights and was an active SPCA member during her college days.
