Paola Ramos Villegas

Paola Aseret Ramos Villegas (Chihuahua, Mexico, November 16th 1992) mexican woman that is studying her Ph.D. at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

She is studying at the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program at Mayo Clinic.
Contributions to Science
She was part in a molecular endocrinology laboratory of Dr. Marc Cox when she was qualified to receive funding from UTEP <nowiki/>'s Campus of Undergraduate Research Initiatives (COURI) Program. She published and abstract Identifying small molecules targeting FKBP52 as a novel treatment for prostate cancer .
When she was still an undergraduate student at UTEP, she studied hormone interaction and drug development at a molecular level. And she took part in a publication on March 2014 at the Emory Symposium.
In february of 2015 she was co-author in the abstract Tetratricopeptide repeat domain 9A negatively regulates estrogen receptor alpha activity.
In her Graduate Research she is focused on the insulin-signaling cascade in muscle tissue and factors that disrupt the correct and optimal communication between molecules in a microenvironment.
