Aging Research Centre

The The Aging Research Centre (ARC) is an independent non-profit educational research centre founded by Steven A. Garan, with facilities in Berkeley, California and in Waterloo, Ontario. Founded in 1994, it focuses its research in three areas: (1) the assembling and linking together of existing knowledge with respect to the aging process in animals, (2) engaging in experiments that shed light on the neuroendocrinology of aging, and the (3) creation of new tools that allow researchers to study the aging process.
Throughout the years, researchers at the Aging Research Centre have presented their research results at many academic conferences and published numerous articles ranging from the effects of caloric restriction on the cell density in the pre-optic hypothalamus, to the systems biology of aging, to articles on an Automated Imaging Microscope System (AIMS) that was developed by ARC researchers in collaboration with researchers at the University of California, Berkeley.
