Palghat Ramprasad is a Carnatic Music vocalist and Development Economist. Palghat Ramprasad sings following the classical style of singing. Dr Ramprasad was recognized as one of the 50 influential people in Soft Power for 2018 by the Open Magazine. He is the grandson of Mridangist Palghat Mani Iyer Carnatic Musician Dr Ramprasad is a student of his father and violinist Palghat T R Rajaram and has been giving concerts since 1988. He currently runs Palghat Mani Iyer School of Music and teaches vocal music. Ramprasad used Delaunay triangulation, an optimization technique used in mathematics and statistics to planning musical concert numbers and compiling song lists. Economist Dr Ramaprasad Rajaram is a development economist who applies quantitative techniques to socio-economic issues - public health, gender, poverty and economic growth in developing countries. He has consulted for the Government of Tamil Nadu and NGOs on projects related to Health, Gender, poverty and sanitation. Dr Rajaram graduated with Doctorate in Economics from The University of Georgia, Athens, USA. He was also a visiting post-doctoral fellow from the Harvard University (School of Public Health)
