Palakolanu Anjaneya swami

Palakolanu Anjaneya swami (Hanuman) rock carving (Rock Art) which is 2 Km to the west from kalvabugga (Kurnool - Tirupati highway) on the Ramalla Kota - Veldurti road, is less known to the world.
Near to this, there is small pond with clear water containing lots of fish. According to the villagers nearby, the lake will be visited by angels during the holy day on karthika pournami. So most of the people will not dare to visit the place. Even the water in the pond are said to be magical and has some great healing effect.
The path to reach this holy place was not good, It will be like trekking in the mountains. But, it is slowly being turned into visit-able shrine.
In this holy place we can find a Rock carving, which appears as Lord venkateswara until noon and then appears like Lord Narsimha from noon to mid night. So, the same holy statue receive two types of poojas in a day.
There are so many arts on the rocks around the Hanuman carving. This place is needed to be studied and explored to find some anthropological links or history of the place.
