Paging grace

Paging Grace is a rock band from Farmingdale, New York formed in 2006. They have produced 2 EP’s, the self titled Paging Grace & All You’re Made Of both which are still commercially available. They released their latest album, All You’re Made of Sept 11th, 2007 to rave reviews on the Independent Music Scene. The current members of the band are Chris Trent, Anthony Machiano, Phil Firetog and Jason Turiner. Former drummer Erik Reichstein left the band in 2007, after performing on both of there studio albums.
Early Years
The band formed in early 2006 when pianist Chris Trent and guitarist Anthony Machiano met through an online classified ad. The two made an immediate connection and began working on some melodies that Chris had created throughout the years. Shortly thereafter, the two recruited drummer Erik Reichstein, and bassist Phil Firetog.

What’s in a name?
With all founding band members in place, the band needed a name to express their infectious piano driven sound. Grace was the name of Chris’ grandmother, who died when he was only 11 years old. She was always supportive of his music, and Chris believes that even after her death, music still brings the two of them closer together. With very little persuasion, the band adopted the name and “Paging Grace” was born.

Paging Grace, EP (2006)
Paging Grace released their first album, the self titled Paging Grace in early 2006. The album was a 5 track EP recorded and produced for less then $3,000 and went on to sell over 1,000 copies. The album was recorded in less then a week at Cloud 9 Studios in Islip, New York and helped to introduce Long Island and New York City to the band and their unique style of piano driven rock. The track list on the album included a rough version of their first single “Leave”, “Sorry”, “Ask Yourself”, “Where I Stand” and “Don’t Rush Me”. The album helped to support their climb through the ranks of the local music scene in Long Island, including such venues as The Crazy Donkey and Vintage Lounge. The band toured extensively through 2006, playing various clubs and Colleges steadily building a reputation as one of the best live bands in New York. Their fan base quickly began to grow with their catchy melodies and electrifying live performances. With their next album in mind the band began to focus on writing new material, which would eventually lead to the successfully released All You’re Made Of.
All You’re Made Of (2007)
Paging Grace’s second album All You’re Made Of was recorded and released September 11th, 2007 and saw the band achieve their first commercial success. The album was recorded at Betamax Studio’s in Glen Head, New York and produced by Dave Caggiano and Sean French (Brand New, Straylight Run, & Sugarcult). The album introduced the world to a more polished Paging Grace and a more timeless avenue of sound for the band. The album as of April 1st 2008, has gone on to sell over 3,000 copies (2,000 hard copies via www.Paginggrace.com and over 1,000 digital downloads according to Nielsen Soundscan). The album includes 3 new tracks (“All You’re Made Of”, “With You”, and “Long Haul” and 2 remakes of previously recorded songs from their first EP “Leave”, and “Sorry”.

All You’re Made Of includes the bands first single “Leave” which is a more polished version of the track released on their first self titled album. The single entered syndicated radio on the Independent Music Network on December 1st and within 3 weeks reached #1 on the charts and has remained on the charts for 17 weeks and counting. It was then released to radio nationally on January 7th, 2008 and was awarded Hot Adult Contemporary Most Added single and has gone on to receive significant airplay nationally in over 20 States including Los Angeles, CA, Dallas, TX and Tampa, FL. The band’s single “Leave” was also most recently picked up by MTV to be featured on their hit series “The Hills” for the show's 4th Season in 2008.

With the new album in hand, the band set forth to tour with a greater emphasis on New York City, and the rest of the Tri-State area. Before the band could even get started they we’re told by their drummer Erik Reichstein that he had to leave the band to be closer to his family in Arizona. After countless auditions, the band was able to fill the void with local drummer Jason Turnier.
With the new line-up in place, the band set up a Tri-State area tour to support their new album. The tour contained headlining stints at top venues in NYC including “The Knitting Factory”, “Crash Mansion”, and “The Cutting Room”, and Long Island including “The Crazy Donkey”. The band also placed a greater emphasis on the College scene including shows at “Syracuse University”, “Hofstra University”, and “Stony Brook University”.

With their tour underway, the band was awarded one of the best band’s on Long Island according to the “Long Island Press” and is set to headline a two day benefit show for the paper in April of 2008. The band was also awarded “New York Spotlight Artist” for M.E.A.N.Y. Fest in December 2007.
