PageOne.ng is a Nigerian business news and information blog with a focus on technology, financial services, startup and political economy. Major Reports Since it started operations, the news blog has broken few trending stories. However, the blog was popular with its expose on the MMM Nigeria Ponzi scheme when the blog wrote an article that revealed that Ernest Mbanefo, a top promoter of MMM Global in Nigeria founded the scheme in Nigeria. Few months later, Ernest Mbanefo came out to deny owning the Nigerian franchise of MMM Global. In December after MMM Nigeria collapsed, Chudi Anayo Ugochi revealed that he owns the Nigerian franchise before he was reported to have escaped to the Philippines. In 2017, PageOne.ng reported that Interswitch Group, Nigeria's largest payment and technology company was bidding to acquire Konga (Konga.com), the country's second largest eCommerce company. Konga's chief executive officer, Sola Adekoya, denied the reports as false and that the company is not in talks in any acquisition deal. One year later, Konga was acquired by Zinox Group. Interswitch did not confirm nor deny the report even after it went viral. PageOne.ng later reported that Konga's negotiation with Interswitch was botched after the former could not agree on agreed valuation for the eCommerce site. The blog has also covered major stories in aviation when Green Africa Airways (now Green Africa) raised investment from Kuramo Capital and banking when it published a trending story on the sack of the Chairman and the entire board of Skye Bank and, now Polaris Bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Ownership and Revenue Model PageOne.ng was founded by Samuel Odusami, a digital marketing and strategic expert and Amos Joseph, a marketing and customer service relationship expert. The website is privately owned company registered. Among other revenue streams, the blog makes money through advertising and content partnership.
