Pacific Grass in Wellington, New Zealand is a kinetic sculpture by the artist, Konstantin Dimopoulos. Commissioned by the Wellington Sculpture Trust, funded by Meridian Energy and gifted to the City of Wellington, Pacific Grass was the first sculpture in the Meridian Wellington Wind Sculpture Walkway series. The sculpture is situated on a traffic roundabout on the way to and from Wellington International Airport. Pacific Grass transforms a traffic island into a beacon of vertical bands of colour that undulate and pulsate with each gust of wind. Its resin rods harness and respond to the extremes of this site, making Pacific Grass memorable as it ushers the traffic around the circumference of the roundabout.
