P. J. Phillips

P. J. Phillips (born 24 July 1964) is a British bass player and singer.

Born Patrick Joseph O'Connor in Mile End, London, Phillips works primarily as a session musician, and has played with Vanessa-Mae (1995-2003), Tom Jones, Nina Hagen, Dolly Parton, and others.

UK weekly music publication Sounds once wrongly posted his death under the heading "Christian Death bass player in Death Plunge" after a freak stage accident in Vienna in 1989 in which Phillips had to be revived by local paramedics (during a brief stint with Goth-Shockers Christian Death).

Phillips can now be seen with artists such as Then Jerico, U.S. singer-songwriter and pianist Jon Regen, as well as others artists including up-and-coming UK singer-songwriter James Carrington.
