Oz The Wizard (stop motion feature film) From , the free encyclopedia Oz The Wizard is one of the first upcoming animated stop motion feature films to be created in Mexico. Frank L. Baum’s “Oz The Wizard” is a long term project that consists of 5 feature films that will compile Frank Baum’s 14 books about Oz. The film is produced by the mexican company Eotec S.A. de C.V., and is also being supported by La Universidad de las Américas Puebla and Animex Estudios The true story of Oz is darker than we’ve seen in previous films, such as "". We wish to tell the story without leaving out the strong details that made this story a classic, an inspiration for the young and adult. Baum’s stories are full with heroic symbols and the search of the true self. The characters are tested continously so they can reach those values they long for. These tests that push them towards their goals are not easy to pass, and Baum fills this with moments of stress and uncertainty. He makes us travel with his characters along the 14 stories which are deeply interwined. We wish to create the same impact through five films. Story The main message of the story is about finding out who we really are, it is about self-knowledge and what we really need to go on in life. "You people with hearts.., have something to guide you, and need never do wrong; but I have no heart, and so I must be very careful". Coincidence is also a key factor for this search to accomplish the means to finding the path to the true self. Dorothy Gale and her wish to return to Kansas is what triggers this coincidences provoking certain events which start a chain of outcomes full with fantasy, new creatures and adventures. Dorothy meets three friends by chance, and each one joins her on a journey to search for their own identity: the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman and the Cowardly Lion. This journey is about achieving three very important values: wisdom, courage and love. This search for values generally takes place in everybody’s life. Wisdom, Courage and Love are commonly present in every human being. This continous search in our daily life is whamake us feel connected with the story empathically. The film is about how sometimes we are unable to see our own qualities. How in general we don’t pay attention in our actions and it’s impact on other people’s life. Union, perseverance, and fraternity come to complete the intention of the film to awake trust and credibility in human capacity to transform micro and macro environments.
