Hick Munsell

Emmett Eugene Munsell (also known as Hick and Judge) was a minor league baseball pitcher and manager. He was born on March 1, 1889 in Eminence, Missouri, USA and he died in December, 1974 in Longview, Texas, USA.
Playing career
Munsell pitched 11 seasons in the minor leagues, winning over 20 games twice - in 1911, he went 20-20 for the Dallas Giants, and in 1915 he went 29-12 while pitching for the San Antonio Bronchos and Salt Lake City Bees. Overall, he posted a record of 110-120 in his minor league career.
He was invited by the New York Giants to Spring Training in 1912, however he and manager John McGraw got into a fistfight after disagreeing on Munsell's pitch selection during an exhibition game. He was released that day.
Managing career
Munsell began the 1923 season managing the Marshall Indians, but was replaced by Jackie Reid. He then managed the Longview Cannibals that year, replacing manager Grady White. He managed the Henderson Oilers for part of 1931, before being replaced by Bennie Bedford.
