Overseas Box office of Tamil films

This is a list of the highest-grossing Tamil films in the overseas box office. The five largest markets where successful Tamil films typically gross over US$1 million are Malaysia (30% share), Sri Lanka, Singapore, Canada and the UK. In early 2010s, select Tamil films attracted cross-ethnic patronage in the USA like Japan in the late 1990s. But, they are considered as exceptions.
Kollywood films in the UK
Since this list is not adjusted for inflation, it tends to favour films in more recent years with nearly ninety-five percent of the films in the top 10 being released after 2007. Films released prior to 2000 do not appear in the list because inflation, population size and ticket purchasing trends make direct comparisons inaccurate.
