Outloud Apps

Outloud Apps (or Outloud oy) is a Finnish company developing Speech therapy mobile apps and providing corresponding therapy services. According to the website of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the company has developed the Leaping Leo app that is leading the voice-activated games market.
Company history
Outloud was founded by a practicing speech and language therapist Ulla Sergejeff in September 2013 in the city of Tampere, Finland. According to the company's Facebook page, the idea of creating her own apps came to Ulla while she was seeking new ways to make speech therapy sessions more effective and entertaining. Ulla came up with the idea of creating a Voice-activated adventure game Leaping Leo, unique at that time.
As the Finnish "oy", short for Osakeyhtiö, indicates, Outloud is a privately owned company by shareholders.
In 2015 Outloud and another Finnish developer Caffeine Overdose won the Games for Health Finland Challenge 2015. This is a Finnish national contest that pursues boosting promoting health and well-being through game-based innovations.
Company products
Besides Leaping Leo, the company lists as her products the following apps on its website: Outloud Christmas Scene, Outloud Timer and Timer 2, Sounds game and Outloud Sounds test. Most of the apps are created for the iOS platform. As the developer claims, these apps are aimed at tackling Speech-language pathology and disorders in children.
