OTR Studios is a recording studio located on the San Francisco peninsula. It is the home base for producer and engineer Cookie Marenco, and her label Blue Coast Records. OTR specializes in 2” tape analog recording with Dolby SR, and uses proprietary silver cable throughout the recording rooms. They also house a variety of digital recording systems, including ProTools, MX-2424 stand-alone unit, Samplitude, Nuendo and Direct Stream Digital (DSD) . During its sessions, OTR uses Extended Sound Environment (E.S.E), a proprietary recording technique . It makes use of room and direct microphone placement to optimize full tonal response from the instruments and character of the room, while allowing the musicians to hear themselves, and each other, without headphones.
