Elvira Fairhurst

Elvira Fairhurst is a former teacher, and married mother of 2, at Gateacre Community Comprehensive School in Liverpool, UK. She started work in September 2003, but was promptly dismissed after she was found participating in indecent behaviour with a pupil on 13 May 2005, shortly before his fifteenth birthday. Fairhurst had been assigned to the pupil, who was in care and had behavioural problems, in order to help him with his English.
Later investigation revealed that the affair had continued for a period of around 4 months, from January to May 2005, during which time Fairhurst had full sexual intercourse with the boy at least seven times. Her victim told police:
:"She looked at me like she wanted me, so I just did it. I shouldn’t have, she was egging me on, and it was just what boys do, you know...I feel like she has just used me."
Fairhurst pleaded guilty to 11 charges of sexual activity with a Child at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 5 June 2006. On 29 June 2006, Fairhurst was sentenced to four years, and indefinitely banned from working with children, by Judge Henry Globe QC.
