Orville Christianson

Orville Christianson (March 11, 1904 - May 7, 1991) was an American politician who served as the last Mayor of Eau Claire, Wisconsin from 1946 to 1949.
In 1945, Christianson was elected mayor of Eau Claire. In 1949, the form of government changed to the Manager - Council Form consisting of seven Council Members elected at large. The Council President was selected by the Council. Therefore, the office of mayor was abolished which made Christianson the last serving mayor of the city. In 1949, Christianson was appointed to the Municipal Retirement Fund Board of Trustees for the State of Wisconsin. In the 1960s he served as the President of the Shriners Club. Christianson went on to serve as a member of the City Council in the 1970s. He died in 1991 and is interred at Lakeview Cemetery.
