David Duax

Dave Duax is a member of the Eau Claire City Council, previously serving as a member of the Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors. Duax served as President of the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame and was appointed by Wisconsin Governor Lee Dreyfus in February 1980 to serve as the first chairman of the Governor's Task for on County Government Organization and Administration.
Biography
Political career
In the 1980's Duax was the chairman of the Eau Claire County Board. In the same time period he served on the State of Wisconsin Council on Aeronautics. Duax worked in many different capacities under Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson from 1987 to 1994, started in 1987 when Duax was appointed to serve as deputy director of the Community Development Finance Authority.
In 2008, Duax authored a city-wide smoking ban which passed by a 7-4 vote. This made Eau Claire the fifth city in Wisconsin to pass such a ban. Duax served on the Eau Claire Plan Commission and was the City Council Vice President from 2009-2014.
