Orange Holland

Orange Holland (Dutch: Oranje Holland) is a Dutch nationalistic and anti-chinese cultural and political movement. It is one of the first dutch nationalistic movements that has his main focus on Chinese influences.
Background
Due to the rising global economic and political power people in the USA and Europe became concerned about the influences of this process on their country. This recently development led to some anti China politics across the World, in particular in the US.
Also in the Netherlands there are people who fear the influence of China on the World and the Dutch culture. In the city of Haarlem Kees Bierma started to organize meetings to warn about ‘het gele gevaar’(the yellow danger). In 2010 he founded the movement Orange Holland.
Ideology
According to the founder Kees Bierma the main concern of Orange Holland is to preserve the Dutch culture and defend it against Asian influences and “to keep holland orange”. An anonymous member of the society told in an interview with De Telegraaf: We will try to prevent China from taking over our country with all we can, within our own Dutch laws.
Criticism
In May 2011 a poster of Orange Holland depicting an orange lion fighting a big yellow dragon and a black dog and containing the text: “don’t let other colours defeat our orange” had to be removed from the wall of the headquarters in Haarlem, due to laws against racism.
