Origin and History
OPSGEAR is a head-to-toe tactical gear company that was started in a garage in 2001 by a United States Air Force veteran. It has grown into a worldwide company servicing military, law enforcement, shooters and civilians. The company now operates out of a 20,000 square foot warehouse, which is the company's main distribution center for its e-commerce store, www.opsgear.com.
In the summer of 2009, the company expanded its operations with a retail store in North Salt Lake, UT. The retail store facilitates foot traffic from local police departments, federal agencies and civilians.
Products
OPSGEAR sells its own branded merchandise including t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, vinyl decals, patches, posters, training DVDs and shooting targets. Its apparel, decals and patches feature designs representing the US Military, Police, Veterans and the Urban Warfare Center.
The company's self-produced DVDs provide tactical training techniques useful for everyone. The current list of DVDs includes Danger Calls: Rescue, Defensive Handgun, Hollywood Bootcamp, Lethal Encounters, OPSWAR, Shots Fired, The Urban Airman and The Urban Soldier.
The company also has its own take on the INFIDEL concept with t-shirts, hats, posters, etc. These items typically feature the word INFIDEL written in English and Arabic. The Urban Warfare Center®
The is an elite training center founded by the CEO of OPSGEAR in 2002. It was initially used to test and try equipment before selling to the public. The facility is now used to help military, police and civilians develop skills that are flexible and will help adapt and dominate a constantly changing environment. The training that is provided is useful whether you are on the city streets or in a combat zone.
The training center is ran by Special Operations veteran instructors who have prepared thousands of police, military, SWAT and federal agents for the reality of combat. The facility is modular in design, attacks the five physical senses and provides the most realistic human versus human training in the world.
Its dynamic environment and proven tools enable both civilian and operators alike the opportunity to be tested at the highest levels. Beginner to advanced skill sets are taught and reviewed using stress inoculation and introspective evaluations that both shorten the training cycles and increase retention. Several courses are offered including defensive handgun and carbine, defensive tactics, team building, combat stress, escaping captivity and travel in high risk areas. Most of the training courses are available to civilians.

Free Tactical Tips
In 2010, the company launched Free Tactical Tips. It's a website dedicated to teaching men and women of all ages basic self defense tactics. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday a new video is posted featuring hand-to-hand, knife, gun, rope and other weapons defense. The purpose of the site is to help people learn some basics to get them out of danger.
Free Tactical Tips is dedicated in memory of Mandy Lund who was the victim of an attempted sexual assault and murdered while trying to defend herself. The company also offers free Women's Self Defense Seminars teaching females how to avoid conflict, break contact or worst case scenario fight off an attacker.
OPSGEAR® Gives
OPSGEAR Gives is the company's way to give back to the local community and abroad. Not only does the company provide head-to-toe tactical gear and force-on-force training, but it also strives to make a difference in the world and work with others who are like minded.
After returning from battle in Afghanistan, a 31 year old soldier began a battle with cancer. OPSGEAR Gives took pride in sponsoring him and donating items to him during his tough battle. The company has also participated in or sponsored the following:
Haiti
* In January 2010, company employees traveled to Haiti on a volunteer mission to provide armed security to doctors, nurses and construction workers supporting the recovery work following the counry's earthquake. During their mission, they worked closely with soldiers of the 82nd Airborne who provided significant support and demonstrated great resolve and courage. OPSGEAR is proud to have been able to support this non-profit humanitarian mission.
St. Baldrick's
* The company sponsored and participated in the 2010 Event in Utah. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
Utah Meth Cops
* In April of 2010, the company launched a project dedicated to helping the men and women of law enforcement, military, government services and anyone sickened through constant exposure to Meth. This partnership was established to raise awareness and funding to help those who protect and serve.
Salt Lake Bees Military Night
* OPSGEAR has provided sponsorship of Military Night with the Salt Lake Bees baseball organization in May 2010.
Heart-2-Home Foundation
* In July 2010, the company partnered with the in getting the word out about winning up to $100,000 to build or remodel homes and change lives. The is a non-profit organization that assists in building homes and helping Utah families in need.
Child Rescue Association

* In August 2010, it was a sponsor of the Candlelight Serenade Acoustic Festival held by the Child Rescue Association. The festival was a benefit to collect donations for the Child Rescue Association, which is a non-profit organization that combats child trafficking. OPSGEAR Gives assisted in raising funds for local victim services and other Utah non-profit partners of the Child Rescue Association.
AMBER Alert
* In October of 2010, OPSGEAR Gives supported the AMBER Alert Program by attending the "Come As You Aren't" event to assist in raising donations.
