Opium Dream Estate (O.D.E.) is a French musical project formed by Sébastyén D. in november 2006, signed to Seventh Crow Records, an independent label created by Sébastyén D. himself. Four full-length albums and one EP have been released so far. Though Opium Dream Sound’s sound is rather difficult to describe as it is filled with many influences (ethereal, gothic, neofolk, ambient, neoclassical and others), it can be identifiable as (mainly) ethereal and neofolk. Sébastyén D. likes to define Opium Dream Estate’s music as ethereal dreamwave. The project name refers to Edgar Allan Poe's writings and "the relation between something immaterial ( Opium Dream ) and something material ( Estate ), between something that is only the mind and something you can hold in your hands."
