Omohan Ebhodaghe (born in Nigeria, 1961) is a London, UK-based Nigerian poet, short story writer & novelist. He was the 1993-4 publicity secretary of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Lagos state chapter. He was assisted to London, UK, by the British Council, Lagos office, via Dr Andy Thomas and Mrs Felicia Onibon. Family Background Omohan Ebhodaghe was born in 1961 at the Ajeromi-Ifelodun local government area of Lagos state, Nigeria. His father's name is Jacob O. Ebhodaghe, who is late. His mother is Alice Otekpen Ebhodaghe of the famous Aburime family in Idunwele, Ewu in Esanland of Edo state, Nigeria. He was christened Emmanuel from birth by his maternal uncle Mr E. I. Aburime. His father named him Aigbonohan. At the university, he changed his name to Omohan. It means a child who makes peace. It was taken from the longer Aigbonohan, that is, you do not beat the one who makes peace. Omohan Ebhodaghe studied at secondary schools in Bendel (now Edo & Delta states) before gaining admission to study English and Literature at the universities of Benin and Lagos. In London, UK, he did a copy-editing course at the Book House Training centre, Wandsworth town.
