Nuremberg moot court

Nuremberg Moot Court is an extracurricular activity in which participants take part in simulated court proceedings and argue a fictitious international criminal case in historical Courtroom 600 in Nuremberg, Germany. Dissecting both complex procedural and substantive issues of international criminal law, students are given the opportunity to apply and develop their skills and moot at the momentous Courtroom 600. The unique location of Nuremberg allows students to practice international criminal law at its very birthplace, offering a historical educational experience. The organizers of the event are International Nuremberg Principles Academy and International Criminal Law Research Unit of Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg.
Each team comprises three to five student members. Each team must prepare to argue the sides of both the Prosecution and Defence in the case and must produce a written memorial for each side of the case. In each round, two competitors from a team will argue one side of the case for 30 minutes in total, including any time reserved for rebuttal or rejoinder.
